Egypt to pay overdue export subsidies to companies without tax clearance

Egyptian government will pay out export subsidy arrears to companies and exporters owed less than 5 million Egyptian pounds without requiring official documents proving they have cleared their tax

The government last month pledged to pay out 1 billion Egyptian pounds in arrears by the end of April as part of its stimulus package to support the economy through covid-19, but had made the payouts contingent on tax clearance documentation.
