Egypt Tourism Min. discusses cooperation with Sarajevo Mayor

Egypt’s Tourism and Antiquities Minister Sherif Fathy met Sarajevo Mayor Samir Avdić to discuss ways of enhancing joint cooperation, according to an official statement from the Ministry on Wednesday.

Both sides stressed the importance of promoting Egypt as a tourism destination in the Bosnian market and Sarajevo as a destination in the Egyptian market.

Fathy noted that the memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed in the field of tourism will open broad avenues for cooperation between Egypt and Bosnia and Herzegovina, as stated in the release.

He detailed the ministry’s promotional strategy, including the international campaign “Egypt…Unmatched Diversity” showcasing Egypt’s unique tourism offerings. He emphasised the upcoming opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum on 1 November.

For his part, Mayor Avdić expressed his hope to increase the number of Egyptian tourists visiting Sarajevo, underscoring the importance of tourism to Bosnia’s economy and the government’s efforts to develop this vital sector.
