Egypt’s Investment and Foreign Trade Minister Hassan El-Khatib met on Wednesday with Samir Majoul, head of Tunisia’s Union of Industry, Trade and Handicrafts, to discuss ways to strengthen bilateral trade and joint investment, the Egyptian Cabinet said.
El-Khatib highlighted the two countries’ long-standing ties and stressed the need to rebalance trade and double the volume of exchange to support growth. He reaffirmed the ministry’s commitment to improving the business climate by removing barriers to investors and encouraging greater Tunisian participation in the Egyptian market.
He called for more exchange visits between Egyptian and Tunisian business leaders and noted plans to establish six logistics hubs across African markets to boost the presence of Egyptian goods on the continent.
The Tunisian delegation praised Egypt’s economic momentum and expressed interest in expanding projects in food security and pharmaceuticals, according to the statement.
