Egypt, Tunisia reject displacement of Palestinians

Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdel Aty met his Tunisian counterpart Mohamed Ali Nafti in Cairo on Monday to discuss the Palestinian issue. They reaffirmed their rejection of any measures aimed at displacing Palestinians. They also stressed the need for a just and lasting political solution through the establishment of an independent Palestinian state along the 4 June 1967 borders.
Abdel Aty reiterated Egypt’s support for Palestinians’ inalienable rights.
The ministers discussed efforts to rebuild Gaza and preparations for the extraordinary Arab League Summit in Cairo on March 4.
Abdel Aty praised the recent progress in Egyptian-Tunisian relations. He emphasised the importance of maximising cooperation and maintaining regular joint committee meetings.
