Egypt’s Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Hassan El-Khattab met Turkish companies in Istanbul to discuss expanding their operations in Egypt, citing ongoing economic reforms and the country’s growing appeal as a regional investment hub, the ministry said Tuesday.
The roundtable, organised by the Egyptian Commercial Office in Istanbul and Turkey’s Foreign Economic Relations Board (DEIK), brought together representatives from about 35 Turkish firms across various industrial sectors.
El-Khattab outlined recent economic developments, investment incentives, and industrial growth opportunities in Egypt. He also addressed issues raised by companies already active in the country, including KCG Home Textiles — which exports most of its Egyptian production to IKEA and recently opened a second factory — and Eroğlu Holding, which operates four factories in Ismailia and Damietta and has expanded with new investments in West Qantara.
Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly inaugurated Eroğlu’s latest facility earlier this year.
The minister also highlighted the success of BEKO’s $100 million investment in Egypt, with its first factory, opened in September 2024, now exporting to 40 countries within a year of operation.
El-Khattab reaffirmed Egypt’s commitment to supporting foreign investors and invited Turkish companies to expand their projects in the country.
