Egypt-Türkiye trade hits $6.8 billion in 2025 -CAPMAS

Trade between Egypt and Türkiye reached $6.8 billion in 2025, up from $6.6 billion in 2024, data from the state statistics agency CAPMAS showed on Wednesday.

Egyptian exports to Türkiye totalled $3.2 billion, down slightly from $3.4 billion the previous year, while imports rose to $3.6 billion, compared with $3.2 billion in 2024.

Top Egyptian exports included ready-made garments ($389 million), plastics and related products ($317 million), machinery and electrical appliances ($301 million), iron and steel ($290 million), fertilisers ($255.4 million), and electrical machinery and appliances ($187.2 million).

Major imports from Türkiye were fuel and mineral oils ($729.3 million), electrical machinery and appliances ($602.2 million), iron and steel ($514.8 million), cotton and textiles ($259.9 million), and cars and tractors ($155.6 million).

Turkish investments in Egypt reached $175.1 million in the 2024/2025 fiscal year, up from $165 million in 2023/2024, while Egyptian investments in Türkiye totalled $74 million, up from $54 million.

Remittances also rose, with Egyptians working in Türkiye sending $69.7 million in 2024/2025, compared with $32.3 million in 2023/2024, while Turkish workers in Egypt sent $11.1 million, up from $9.4 million.

The announcement coincides with the second meeting of the Egypt- Türkiye High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council, presided over by Presidents Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in Cairo, aimed at boosting bilateral economic and strategic cooperation.
