Egypt, U.S. ink MoU on cooperation in energy field
Egypt’s Petroleum Ministry and Electricity Ministry signed on Thursday a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the U.S. Department of Energy on cooperation in the field of energy.
The MoU was signed by Minister of Oil Tarek el-Molla, as a representative of both the Egyptian ministries, along with US Secretary of Energy Rick Perry during a meeting held on Thursday night at the US Chamber of Commerce premises here.
The MOU aims at creating a framework of constructive cooperation in the field of energy, ease exchange and sharing of knowledge as well as skills and technical expertise in the targeted domain.
The two sides will hold talks on means of beefing up cooperation in the field of energy once a year as part of the strategic dialogue between the two countries.
