Egypt, UK begin preparations for business forum during Starmer’s December visit

Egypt on Thursday held its first coordination meeting to prepare for the Egypt–UK Business Forum, scheduled for early December to coincide with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s anticipated visit to Cairo.

The session, chaired by Abdel Aziz El-Sherif, head of the Egyptian Commercial Service, outlined key sectors to be highlighted during the forum, including renewable energy and green hydrogen, infrastructure, advanced manufacturing, digital transformation and cybersecurity, as well as healthcare, education, and logistics.

The forum will feature panel discussions, business-to-business meetings, and an investment roundtable. Several memoranda of understanding are expected to be signed across multiple industries to deepen bilateral trade and investment ties between Egypt and the United Kingdom.
