Egypt’s Higher Education Minister Ayman Ashour on Wednesday witnessed the signing of a partnership between the Universities of Canada in Egypt (UCE) and Britain’s Anglia Ruskin University (ARU) to establish a new ARU branch in Cairo.
The branch, hosted by UCE, will offer internationally accredited programmes across four faculties – science and engineering, business and law, health and medicine, and humanities and social sciences – the Cabinet said.
Ashour said the agreement reflects Egypt’s drive to expand higher education through foreign university branches and international degree programmes as part of its strategy to become a regional hub.
ARU Vice Chancellor Roderick Watkins said the new branch will give Egyptian students the chance to earn a British degree without leaving the country. UCE Chair Magdy Elkady added that the move aligns with Egypt’s Vision 2030 and its focus on human capital development.
