Egypt, US discuss deepening strategic energy ties at ADIPEC 2025

Egypt’s Petroleum Minister Karim Badawy met with US Secretary of the Interior and Chair of the National Energy Dominance Council Doug Burgum on the sidelines of the ADIPEC 2025 in Abu Dhabi to discuss strengthening strategic bilateral energy ties.

Talks focused on enhancing US-Egypt cooperation through technical support, financing, and knowledge transfer in the energy sector, as well as expanding investments by US companies operating in Egypt, including ExxonMobil, Chevron, and Apache.

The two officials also discussed regional collaboration to maximise the use of natural gas resources in the Eastern Mediterranean and leverage Egypt’s infrastructure to re-export gas to global markets.
