The Egyptian Ministry of Industry and Foreign Trade has decided to establish a coordinating secretariat between Egypt and the USA, so as to arrange the fields of economic and commercial cooperation between the two countries, as well as arranging other issues, which relate to the economic relations, with the concerned authorities in Egypt. The secretariat’s task is to coordinate between the ministries and concerned authorities in Egypt over the commercial and economic relations between Egypt and the USA.
According to the resolution No. 960/2012 of establishing the coordinating secretariat, the head of Egyptian Commercial Representation Body will lead the committee, in addition to the membership of the head of the Trade Agreements Sectors (T.A.S), head of Foreign Trade sector, board chairman of the two Americas in Egyptian Commercial Representation Body as a secretary general; in addition to representatives from the ministries of tourism, agriculture, communications, investments, and the Industrial Modernization Center (IMC).
The secretariat will take over the mission of preparing the proposals over the Egyptian concern and ready for negotiation; setting programs to implement the bilateral agreements between the two countries, as well as a program for the scientific and technological cooperation between the two countries.
