Egypt warned Israel on Monday that the Egyptian sovereignty is not to be violated, high-level Egyptian sources told Al-Qahera News.
The warning came against pushing civilian Palestinians from war-hit Gaza towards the Egyptian borders in mass displacements.
According to Reuters, the Israeli military suggested that Palestinians fleeing the air strikes head to Egypt.
“I am aware that the Rafah crossing (on the Gaza-Egypt border) is still open,” Lieutenant-Colonel Richard Hecht, chief military spokesperson to the foreign media, said in a briefing.
“Anyone who can get out, I would advise them to get out.” he added.
The Egyptian source said the occupying authority is responsible for establishing humanitarian corridors to rescue the people of Gaza.
The Palestinian-Israeli war is now continuing for the third day.
Israel is now intensifying its military attack against the Gaza Strip, killing hundreds of innocent civilians and injuring over 2,700.
