Egypt’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health Khaled Abdel Ghaffar met Wednesday with World Health Organisation’s Representative to Egypt, Nima Saeed Abid to explore ways to deepen cooperation in strengthening healthcare systems and easing pressure on vulnerable populations.
The meeting focused on enhancing emergency preparedness, improving rapid response strategies, and ensuring the availability of medical supplies and logistical support.
Discussions also addressed training healthcare personnel in emergency care and mass casualty management, as well as tackling communicable and non-communicable diseases.
Both sides reviewed opportunities to boost early warning systems, epidemiological surveillance, community engagement, and the adoption of digital platforms to support faster decision-making.
Improving access to healthcare for refugees and displaced persons was also a key topic.
