Egypt, WHO strengthen cooperation on ‘Health in All Policies’

Egypt’s Minister of Planning, Economic Development and International Cooperation, Rania Al Mashat, held a meeting with WHO Regional Director for the Eastern Mediterranean Hanan Balkhy to discuss ways to strengthen cooperation.

The meeting focused on the World Health Organisation’s Health in All Policies approach, which aims to integrate health considerations into policymaking across all government sectors. Al Mashat welcomed the initiative, noting its alignment with Egypt’s efforts to adopt evidence-based policymaking and develop a medium-term national plan starting next fiscal year.

She also highlighted Egypt’s integrated national strategy for sustainability and development financing (E-INFS) as a roadmap for funding development across sectors, including health and human development.

Al Mashat further outlined the ministry’s role in preparing Egypt’s economic and social development plans, managing public investments, and coordinating with international development partners, including UN agencies.
