Egypt’s economy will maintain a positive growth ranging between 2.8 percent and 3 percent for this financial year, said an International Monetary Fund (IMF) official on Monday.
Speaking at an economic conference in Cairo, IMF’s Executive Director Mahmoud Mohieldin said Egypt was one of the few countries that had positive GDP growth in 2020 of 3.5 percent despite the repercussions of the coronavirus pandemic.
Mohieldin has emphasised the importance of human capital to sectors of education and healthcare as well as the social security programmes.
