According to official figures by the Egyptian government, the number of tourists who visited the country last February surged 257%, compared with the same month in 2011, but remained below pre-revolution levels, Ahram Weekly has reported. The Central Agency for Public Mobilizations and Statistics (CAPMAS) said more than 753,000 tourists came to Egypt in February, and that the number of tourist nights has jumped by 83.4% to 8.3 million from 4.5 million in the same month a year earlier.
