Egypt, World Bank discuss boosting healthcare cooperation

Egypt’s Health Minister Khaled Abdel Ghaffar met World Bank Executive Director for Egypt Abdulaziz Al Mulla on Thursday to review joint programmes and support for the country’s health sector, the ministry said on Thursday.

Abdel Ghaffar praised the bank’s role in backing Egypt’s healthcare system, including its universal health insurance scheme, and in promoting investment in human capital.

Talks focused on strengthening public-private partnerships, family planning, upgrading primary healthcare units, and training medical staff to improve service delivery, the statement said.
