Egyptian banks to close on 7 January for Orthodox Christmas

The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) announced on Monday that all banks in the country will be closed on Wednesday, 7 January, in observance of Coptic Orthodox Christmas.

Banking operations are set to resume on Thursday, 8 January, the central bank said, affecting both local and foreign banks operating in Egypt.
