Egyptian bourse heads north on Wednesday

Egypt’s stock exchange (EGX) closed in the green area on Wednesday, with the main index, EGX30 gaining 1.14 per cent, to 30,709.59 points.

The Shariah index, EGX33 surged by 0.96 per cent to 2,912.44 points.

The small to mid-size enterprises’ index, EGX70 added 0.80 per cent, to 7,072.43 points.  

The index, EGX100 index inched up by 0.92 per cent, to 10,135.12 points.

The total market capitalisation recorded 2,099,146,181,546 Egyptian pound.

Egyptians were net sellers with 7,165,071,445 Egyptian pounds, while, Arabs and non-Arab foreigners were net buyers with totals of 4,304,580,929 Egyptian pound and 2,860,490,516 Egyptian pound, respectively.

Top climbers

  1. Shares of Alexandria Flour Mills (AFMC.CA) climbed by 19.98 per cent, to close at 24.380 Egyptian pound a share.
  2. Shares of Memphis Pharmaceuticals (MPCI.CA) jumped by 11.62 per cent, to close at 38.130 Egyptian pound a share.
  3. Shares of Ezz Steel (ESRS.CA) soared by 11.48 per cent, to close at the price of 108.800 Egyptian pound a share.

Top fallers

  1. Shares of Reacap Financial Investments (REAC.CA) sank by 5.20 per cent, to close at the price of 4.740 Egyptian pound a share.
  2. Shares of Juhayna Food Industries (JUFO.CA) dived by 3.44 per cent, to trade at the price of 24.950 Egyptian pound a share.
  3. Shares of South Valley Cement (SVCE.CA) shed 3.21 per cent, to the purchasing price of 3.020 Egyptian pound a share.
