Egyptian bourse opens Monday on mixed note
The indices of the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) opened Monday’s trading session on a mixed note.
By 10:10 am Cairo time, the benchmark EGX30 index dipped 12 points, or 0.08 percent, to 14,093 points.
The small- and mid-cap EGX70 index inched up 0.01 percent to 699.4 points, whereas the broader EGX100 index slipped 0.01 percent to 1,768.8 points.
The equal-weighted EGX50 index slid 0.02 percent to 2,199.7 points.
Trading volume amounted to nearly 4.4 million shares exchanged through 555 transactions at a turnover of 16.6 million pounds.
Arab investors were net buyers with 246,600 pounds, while Egyptian and foreign investors were net sellers with 31,300 pounds and 215,300 pounds, respectively.
It has not been traded on the heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) yet.
Eastern Co led top gainers with 2.11 percent, while Egypt Aluminum headed losers with 2.03 percent.
