Egyptian-Chinese Business Council Formed Today

Egyptian Minister of Industry and Trade Mounir Fakhry Abdel Nour issued a decree Monday stipulating the formation of the Egyptian-Chinese Business Council, headed by Ahmed Al-Sewedy, who is the CEO of El Sewedy Electric.

As pursuant to the decree, the head of the Egyptian side of the Council will issue a semi-annual report on its efforts and activities to the Minister of Industry and Foreign Trade. The report is to include the activities undertaken by the Council, as well as proposals and future plans to develop common interests between the two countries.

The third article in the decree included concerned Egyptian authorities and embassies, particularly commercial attaches, in assisting the Council in its duties, facilitating its jurisdiction, and providing it data or information requested on Council activity.

Abdel Nour is expected to hold the council’s first meeting tomorrow to review future plans and the most important proposals for developing bilateral relations.
