The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) ended Wednesday’s session in decline, with key indices closing in negative territory.
The EGX30, the main index, fell 0.82 per cent to 31,348.47 points. The EGX33 Shariah index dropped 0.46 per cent to 3,370.9 points. The EGX70 index for SMEs declined 0.94 per cent to 8,880.38 points.
The EGX100 index lost 0.94 per cent, settling at 12,281.21 points.
Total market capitalisation stood at 2.24 trillion Egyptian pounds.
Egyptians were net sellers, offloading 13.6 billion pounds, while Arab and non-Arab foreign investors were net buyers, with 1.14 billion pounds and 12.48 billion pounds in purchases, respectively.

- Shares of M.B Engineering rose by 15.50 per cent, to close at the price of 2.310 Egyptian pounds a share.
- Shares of Arab Ceramic CO.- Ceramica Remas climbed by 13.35 per cent, to trade at the price of 1.061 Egyptian pounds a share.
- Shares of Misr Duty Free Shops jumped by 12.24 per cent, to the purchasing price of 30.350 Egyptian pounds a share.
Top losers
- Shares of Rights Issue of Beltone Holding -4 fell by 96.88 per cent, to close at 0.001 Egyptian pounds a share.
- Shares of Rights Issue of Arab Developers Holding -1 dropped by 36.36 per cent, to close at the price of 0.084 Egyptian pounds a share.
- Shares of Industrial and Engineering Projects declined by 8.16 per cent, to close at 0.360 Egyptian pounds a share.
