Egyptian exchange opens Wednesday in green
The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) started Wednesday’s trading session in green territory on the back of purchases of Arab and foreign investors.
By 10:18 am Cairo time, the benchmark EGX30 index gained 77.51 points, or 0.54 percent, to 14,459.06 points.
The small- and mid-cap EGX70 index edged up 0.11 percent to 700.12 points, while the broader EGX100 index added 0.2 percent to 1,782.92 points.
The equal-weighted EGX50 index levelled up 0.86 percent to 2,255 points.
Trading volume amounted to nearly 16.8 million shares exchanged at a turnover of 67.12 million pounds through 1,560 transactions.
Egyptian investors were net sellers with 60.03 million pounds, while foreign and Arab investors were net buyers with 58.9 million pounds and 1.08 million pounds, respectively.
The heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) shed 0.53 percent to 82 pounds, with a turnover of 81,200 pounds.
