Egyptian expats’ car import initiative ends on April 29
Egypt’s Finance Minister, Mohamed Maait, confirmed on Thursday that his ministry has put April 29 as deadline for “Expats car import facilitation initiative”, as reported by the Egyptian Cabinet. The initiative would not be extended, the report added.
The statement said that 27,000 cars have been cleared as per the taxation initiative for the facilitation of imported cars of Egyptian expatriates.
More than $750 million have been transferred from Egyptian expats benefiting from the initiative, 250,000 import approvals have been issued, and 490,000 Egyptian expats have registered electronically to benefit from this initiative, the report said.
