Egyptian government is planning to fill 60 percent of the youth and low-income citizens’ housing needs by 2018 as part of a short and medium-term ambitious plan announced by housing minister Moustafa Madbouli on Sunday.
In a Ministry of Housing statement on Sunday, Madbouli further said the government plans to implement an average of 200,000 housing units dedicated for social housing scheme.
The government is working to increase the participation of private sector firms in social housing and middle-income housing projects, and in carrying out 150,000 housing units until 2018.
