Egyptian pound edges higher against dollar in early Monday trade – 2 Feb, 2026

The Egyptian pound strengthened slightly against the US dollar in early trading on Monday, according to exchange rates quoted by major local banks.

At 11:53 p.m. local time (09:53 GMT), the dollar was trading at the following levels:

Bank Buy (EGP/USD) Sell (EGP/USD)
National Bank of Egypt (NBE) 47.05 47.15
Banque Misr 47.07 47.17
Commercial International Bank (CIB) 47.04 47.14
QNB Alahli 47.0200 47.1200
Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (ADIB) 47.0400 47.1400

The pound has been trading within a narrow range in recent weeks, signalling relative stability in Egypt’s foreign exchange market following earlier volatility driven by hard-currency shortages and high inflationary pressures.
