The Egyptian pound inched higher against the US dollar in early trading on Tuesday, according to exchange rates posted by major local banks.
At 11:30 p.m. local time (09:30 GMT), the dollar was trading at the following levels:
| Bank | Buy (EGP/USD) | Sell (EGP/USD) |
| National Bank of Egypt (NBE) | 46.82 | 46.92 |
| Banque Misr | 46.82 | 46.92 |
| Commercial International Bank (CIB) | 46.79 | 46.89 |
| QNB Alahli | 46.7900 | 46.8900 |
| Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (ADIB) | 46.8800 | 46.9800 |
The pound has traded within a narrow range in recent weeks, signalling relative stability in Egypt’s foreign exchange market after earlier bouts of volatility driven by hard-currency shortages and elevated inflation pressures.
