Egyptian pound mostly edges lower against dollar in early trade

Egyptian pound was marginally weaker against the US dollar in early trading on Wednesday, according to exchange rates posted by major local banks.

At 11:10 p.m. local time (09:10 GMT), the dollar was trading at the following levels:

Bank Buy (EGP/USD) Sell (EGP/USD)
National Bank of Egypt (NBE) 46.84 46.94
Banque Misr 46.84 46.94
Commercial International Bank (CIB) 46.84 46.94
QNB Alahli 46.8300 46.9300
Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (ADIB) 46.8600 46.9600

The currency has traded within a narrow range in recent weeks, signalling relative stability in the foreign exchange market after earlier volatility driven by hard-currency shortages and elevated inflation pressures.
