Egyptian Space Agency Partners with AQMAAR to boost local satellite manufacturing
The Egyptian Space Agency (EGSA) signed on Tuesday a strategic cooperation protocol with AQMAAR to enhance satellite manufacturing in Egypt, marking a significant step forward for the country’s space sector.
Under the agreement, AQMAAR will leverage EGSA’s cutting-edge infrastructure for environmental, mechanical, and electrical testing of satellites. The partnership also includes joint research, satellite operations, and securing communication frequencies, reinforcing Egypt’s ambitions in space technology.
The deal was signed by Sherif Sedky, CEO of EGSA, and Ahmed Nassar, CEO of AQMAAR, in a move that strengthens collaboration between research institutions and private tech firms.
AQMAAR, Egypt’s first private satellite manufacturer, plans to develop and deploy satellite constellations for IoT services, telecommunications, and Earth imaging, supporting Egypt’s digital transformation and technological innovation.
With this partnership, Egypt aims to position itself as a regional hub for satellite production, expanding its capabilities in the global space industry.
