Egyptian stock market starts Tuesday on mixed note
The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) opened Tuesday’s trading session on a mixed note.
By 10:26 am Cairo time, the benchmark EGX30 index went up 101.64 points, or 0.6 percent, to 16,892.73 points.
The EGX70 index dipped 0.02 percent to 853.3 points, while the EGX100 index edged up 0.21 percent to 2,182 points.
The equal-weighted EGX50 index added 0.53 percent to 2,917 points.
Trading volume reached about 14.02 million shares exchanged at a turnover of 69.6 million pounds through 2,200 transactions.
Foreign investors were net sellers with 2.9 million pounds, while Egyptian and Arab investors were net buyers with 2.7 million pounds and 210,700 pounds, respectively.
It has not been traded on the heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) yet.
