Egyptian Telecom Ministry Unveils 39 million Users in 2013-End

A report issued by the Egyptian Telecom Ministry revealed that the numbers of internet subscribers reached around 39 million with 18.8% annual rate compared to 32.6 million in 2012.

The report explained that the proportion of internet penetration in Egypt reached 46% from the total population in compared to 39% in the end of the last year.

The report said the high speed internet subscribers are 2.6 million while the internet subscribers via mobile phone reached around 14.5 million.

The Ministry’s indexes revealed that the numbers of mobile phone users in Egypt reached around 100 million at the end of the last year 2013.

Indexes said the number of users boosted to 900 thousand in last December, noting that Vodafone’s subscribers are 42 million as Vodafone ranked first as the most operator that captures the numbers of subscribers.
