Egyptian Tourism Ministry to adopt new promotion methods at Berlin’s travel show
Taking part in the travel trade show in Berlin ITB on March 6-10, Egypt will be adopting new promotion methods, said Tourism Minister Rania el Mashat Tuesday.
For the first time, tourist cities in Egypt will be introduced on screens set up at the Egyptian pavilion, Mashat said in statements before leaving for Berlin to attend the ITB earlier today.
Mashat said tickets to the ITB will bear a logo of the inauguration of the Grand Egyptian Museum in 2020, which is part of her ministry’s campaign to promote for the big day.
Huge billboards have also been set up on Berlin streets to declare the GEM inauguration next year, she added.
A maquette of the GEM and a hologram of the golden mask of King Tutankhamun and his throne will also be displayed at the Egyptian pavilion, she further said.
Visitors of the pavilion will also have a taste of Egyptian food and a glimpse into Egyptian music, Mashat said, noting that this is part of the entertainment activities meant to attract audience.
Also 360° photographs of the Sinai Trail, which extends through Mount Saint Catherine, will offer virtual tours of Egypt’s first long-distance hiking trail, the minister added.
A hologram of King Ramses II statue will also be showcased at the ITB, Mashat went on to say.
