Egyptian Trade Minister Mounir Fakhry Abdel Nour is visiting Italy Thursday to discuss means of enhancing bilateral economic relations and activate Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs), signed during Egypt’s March Economic Summit.
During the visit, the minister is set to meet key officials from one of the key transportation firm in Italy to discuss the launch of a direct line linking between Egyptian and Italian ports. The direct line aims to facilitate the procedures of transporting Egyptian agricultural exports to the Italian markets in the upcoming period.
Furthermore, the visit would include a meeting with the Italian side of the Italian Egyptian Business Council to discuss the investment opportunities available in national projects that Egypt is currently executing.
Abdel Nour is also scheduled to meet with the Egyptian pavilion in Expo Milano 2015 to prepare for a planned visit by the Egyptian Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab to the country set to be on July 23.
Expo Milano 2015 will be held from May 1 to October 31, 2015 in Milano, Italy, under the theme of “Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life”.
Moreover, around 140 countries will participate in Expo Milano 2015 that would be carried out on an area of 1.1 million square metres and expects to welcome over 20 million visitors.
