Egypt’s national swimming team player, Abdelrahman Sameh, set a new record at 23.13 and received the silver medal for the 50 metres butterfly on the final of the 2023 World Aquatics Swimming World Cup in Budapest.
Sameh qualified for the finals after completing the eighth heat in 23.53 seconds, securing the fourth position overall and earning his spot in the highly-anticipated medal race.
Sameh is a 23-year-old athlete and a part of the University of Notre Dame’s swimming and diving team in Indiana, United States. He won the bronze medal at the 2018 Youth Olympic Games in the 50-metre freestyle.
