Egypt’s agricultural exports exceed 5.6m tons in 8 months

Egypt’s agricultural sector is experiencing robust growth, with exports reaching a significant milestone. According to a report by the Egyptian Agriculture Quarantine Authority, the country shipped over 5.6 million tons of agricultural products during the period between January 1 and August 12, 2024.

Citrus fruits dominated exports, with a staggering 2,077,386 tons. Potatoes followed closely behind at 957,481 tons, while onions secured the third position with 236,907 tons. Other key agricultural exports included grapes of 164,430 tons, beans (fresh and dry) of 156,644 tons, and potatoes of 89,710 tons. Exports of mangoes, tomatoes, and garlic reached 37,038 tons, 36,876 tons, and 21,965 tons, respectively. Moreover, exports of strawberry, guava, and pomegranates stood at 21,295 tons, 10,427 tons, and 9,799 tons, respectively.
