Egypt’s agricultural exports hit 3.4mn tonnes in H1 – minister
Egypt’s agricultural exports reached around 3.47 million tonnes during the first half of this year despite the coronavirus pandemic, said Agriculture Minister Al-Sayed El-Quseir on Friday.
Egypt exported some 5.4 million tonnes of agricultural products in 2019, Ahram Online reported.
The minister said in a statement that up to 305 Egyptian agricultural products are found on the market in 160 different countries.
The exports included about 1.3 million tonnes of citrus fruits, 661,580 tonnes of potatoes, 267,223 tonnes of onions, 96,186 tonnes of grapes, 29,685 tonnes of garlic, and 20,622 tonnes of strawberries.
