Egypt’s Alexandria Mineral Oils Company (AMOC) and Middle East Oil Refinery (MIDOR) signed an agreement to boost production of high-quality diesel that meets global standards, the ministry of petroleum said on Sunday.
The deal will see the two companies cooperate to increase local diesel supply by about 350,000 tons annually through upgrading AMOC’s output to international specifications.
The move is part of a wider push by the ministry of petroleum and mineral resources to deepen integration among state energy firms and enhance fuel security for the domestic market, while maximising the use of existing infrastructure and refining capacity.
