The Egyptian Minister of Antiquities, Mohamed Ibrahim, received yesterday a delegation from the government of Vietnam, headed by the Vietnamese ambassador to Cairo, to discuss the ways of cooperation in the antiquities field between Egypt and Vietnam.
Ibrahim stated that he looked into the possibility of signing a cooperation protocol between Egypt and Vietnam by which Vietnam exchanges experiences with the Ministry of Antiquities in the fields of excavation, restoration, museum management, historical areas and training courses
On his part, the Vietnamese Ambassador to Egypt Dao Thanh Chung said Vietnam greatly considers the Egyptian antiquities, as the schools study some information about the ancient Egyptian heritage.
The ambassador affirmed that the information is suitable for developing the cooperation between Egypt and Vietnam in the field of protecting the antiquities and the cultural heritage.
The visit of the Vietnamese delegation came after having a tour in the historical places in Cairo and Giza. The delegation’s member has expressed their fond of the ancient Egyptian civilization, and the Egyptian ministry’s efforts to protect them.
