Egypt’s AOI to launch new line of locally made electronics to boost industry

Egypt’s Arab Organisation for Industrialisation (AOI) plans to launch a new line of locally manufactured electronic products at competitive prices as part of government efforts to promote domestic industry and support Egyptian-made goods, the organisation said on Thursday.

AOI Chairman Mokhtar Abdel Latif inspected the final expansion works at the Electronics Factory ahead of its reopening following a major development programme. During the visit, he reviewed new production lines built to international standards for manufacturing mobile and computer accessories, along with Zerotech Electronics products developed within the facility.

Abdel Latif toured the factory’s current product range — already well established in the local market — including screens, tablets, computers, mobile phones, surveillance cameras, audio systems, electric metres, and air conditioners.

He underscored the importance of boosting local manufacturing and reducing imports in line with Egypt’s strategy to localise modern electronics and communication technologies. Abdel Latif reaffirmed AOI’s commitment to implementing President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s directives to expand industrial partnerships with the private sector and enhance Egypt’s production capabilities in electronics.

He praised the quality of the new Zerotech-branded products, including keyboards, mice, headphones, fast chargers, mobile cables, earphones, and speakers — all certified by the Egyptian Organisation for Standardisation and Quality.

Abdel Latif said the AOI aims to offer affordable, high-quality electronic products for Egyptian consumers while opening export markets, ensuring compliance with international standards, and providing maintenance and after-sales support.
