Egypt’s Banque Misr achieves EGP 16.5bn pretax profit in 6 months

Egypt’s second largest public bank Banque Misr said on Sunday its pretax consolidated profits had recorded 16.560 billion Egyptian pounds ($674 million) in the first six month of the year.

Earlier, the bank’s pretax profits stood at 46.089 billion pounds in 18 months as of 31 December 2021.

Net profit reached 8.494 billion pounds at the end of June 2022, from 18-month net profit of 23.359 billion pounds as of 31 December 2021.

Net interest income registered 26.651 billion pounds in the first half of 2022.
