Egypt’s c.bank conducts annual crisis drill to test continuity systems
The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) said on Sunday it has completed its annual drill to test business continuity and disaster recovery systems, part of efforts to align with international standards and ensure operations can withstand crises.
The exercise, led by the CBE’s risk management sector and conducted with its information technology and support departments, simulated a full working day from alternative sites and branches linked to the bank’s disaster recovery facility.
The drill tested the central bank’s ability to maintain critical transactions and services during emergencies, with participation from internal and external stakeholders.
The central bank said the scenarios assessed potential disruptions and threats to gauge the readiness of its alternative facilities, ensuring it can sustain core functions and meet domestic and international obligations even in times of crisis.
