Egypt’s c. bank offers EGP 60B T-bills
The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) is issuing 60 billion Egyptian pounds in treasury bills (T-bills) on Thursday, in collaboration with the Ministry of Finance, according to a CBE statement on its website.
The bills are being offered in two tranches: 30 billion pounds for a 182-day period and another 30 billion pounds for a 364-day period. Treasury bills are short-term government debt instruments with maturities ranging from three months to a year.
The bank issued on Wednesday corridor-linked deposits for a duration of 35 days for 150 billion pounds, and the total amount to be returned is 200 billion pounds.
