Egypt’s c. bank offers EGP19b fixed-coupon T-bonds
Egypt’s central bank said Monday it will auction 19 billion Egyptian pounds in fixed-coupon treasury bonds, in coordination with the Ministry of Finance.
The sale will include three tranches: 5 billion pounds in two-year bonds maturing on Sept. 2, 2027; 13 billion pounds in three-year bonds maturing on Aug. 26, 2028; and 1 billion pounds in five-year bonds maturing on July 8, 2030, according to central bank data.
A coupon is an annual interest paid on a bond. Investors receive a coupon payment, either annually or semi-annually, from issuance until maturity, if they hold the bond, according to DailyForex website.
