Egypt’s CBE auctions EGP 60b in t-bills
The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) is offering 60 billion Egyptian pounds worth of treasury bills (t-bills) this Sunday in collaboration with the Ministry of Finance.
The auction will consist of two tranches: a 91-day bill valued at 40 billion pounds maturing on May 13, 2024, and a 273-day bill worth 20 billion pounds maturing on May 13, 2025.
Treasury bills are short-term government debt instruments typically ranging from three to twelve months in maturity.
