Egypt’s CBE partakes meeting to develop African banking sector
Governors of African central banks praised on Saturday efforts exerted by the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) in support of the banking sector in Africa last year.
The governors made the remarks during their participation in the 42nd session of the Association of African Central Banks (AACB), held in Kigali, Rwanda, on July 28 to August 1.
The Central Bank of Egypt had assumed the presidency of the AACB session in 2018-2019.
The CBE has succeeded in implementing all decisions and recommendations made by the executive council of the association during its meeting in the Red Sea city resort of Sharm el Sheikh in August 2018, the bankers said.
The governors also lauded the CBE initiatives for developing the banking sector in the continent.
