Concord to deliver phase I of New El Alamein’s utilities works this month

Egypt’s Concord Company for Engineering and Construction says it plans to start delivering the first phase of the ongoing utilities works in New El Alamein City’s governmental area before the end of June 2018.

Concord’s chairman Ahmed Elabd, said Wednesday this comes as part of the state’s scheme to inaugurate some parts of the first phase that is set to include residential, services, and entertainment areas before the end of this summer.

“The various phases of utilities works are set to be handed over at the end of this year maximum,” Elabd further added.

Concord has been earlier mandated to carry out infrastructure works at three governmental areas in New El Alamein City, he stated, referring that these areas will comprise buildings for ministers and presidency.

The Egyptian official clarified that the construction works of the governmental headquarters in New El Alamein City are currently being implemented by the country’s construction firms Hassan Allam and Orascom Construction (OC).

In March 2018, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi has inaugurated New El Alamein that is located northeast of Cairo and it is one of the fourth generation cities being built in the state.

New Al-Alamein, which is built on a space of 49,000 feddans at a cost worth two billion pounds ($111.8 million), will be developed in four phases, two of which are being executed, according to a Housing Ministry statement.

The first phase, where construction started in October 2016, is expected to accommodate 400,000 people, whereas the whole city will populate three million people.
