Egypt’s core inflation rises to 5.8% in November – c.bank
Egypt’s year-on-year core inflation surged to 5.8 percent in November from 5.2 percent in October, the central bank said on Thursday.
Month-on-month inflation recorded 0.5 percent in November compared to zero percent in the same month of the previous year and to 2.1 percent in October 2021.
Core inflation strips out volatile items such as food.
Headline Inflation
Monthly headline urban CPI inflation recorded 0.1 percent in November compared to 0.8 percent in the same month of the previous year and to 1.5 percent in October 2021, according to the latest report published by the country’s statistics agency CAPMAS. Accordingly, the annual headline inflation rate recorded 5.6 percent in November compared to 6.3 percent in October.
