Egypt’s Customs inks training deal with Alex. Univ.

Egyptian Customs Authority and Alexandria University signed a cooperation protocol to enhance investment in human capital and align academic education with real-world requirements, the Ministry of Finance announced on Monday.

Ahmed Amawi, head of the Egyptian Customs Authority, stated that the protocol reflects the Finance Ministry’s commitment to sustainably developing human resources as part of a broader plan to enhance customs performance.

He added that the partnership includes advanced postgraduate programmes at the Faculty of Business in fields related to customs work, offering a comprehensive academic path from diplomas to doctoral degrees for customs employees.

Amawi noted that continuous training programmes will also be provided at the Faculty of Business to build managerial and leadership skills, while field training at customs outlets will be arranged for business students.

Additionally, the protocol mandates that final-year students in the Customs Department at Alexandria University submit research papers based on their field training with the authority, the statement added.
