Egypt’s Deputy Prime Minister and Health Minister Khaled Abdel Ghaffar chaired a meeting on Wednesday to review mechanisms for settling outstanding debts within the Unified Procurement Authority (UPA), the Cabinet said in a statement.
The meeting assessed progress on earlier recommendations, citing positive results while identifying remaining challenges and potential solutions. Updates on repayments across several sectors were presented, including amounts already cleared and steps planned to settle outstanding dues.
Abdel Ghaffar stressed the need for coordination among relevant agencies to establish a clear action plan and timetable for resolving obligations while safeguarding the rights of both the state and suppliers.
He also ordered the creation of a specialised committee to audit spending and consumption at ministry-affiliated medical facilities, aiming to optimise resources and strengthen financial oversight.
