Egypt’s domestic debt hikes to more than 4 trillion pounds – c.bank
Egypt’s domestic debt rose to 4.354 trillion pounds ($269.1 billion) at the end of 2019, around 69.5 percent of the country’s GDP, the central bank said on Tuesday.
According to the central bank’s monthly report, the debt includes 87.8 percent owned by the government. The government domestic debt increased to 3.824 trillion pounds through the period from July to December 2019.
